PADI (Professional Association of Diving Instructors)
is the world's largest recreational diving membership organization. The membership includes dive businesses, resort facilities, academic institutions, instructor trainers, dive educators, divers, snorkelers and other watersports.
Professional PADI Members (dive centers, resorts, educational facilities, instructors, assistant instructors and divemasters) teach the vast majority of the world's recreational divers, issuing approximately 1,000,000 dive certificates each year.
PADI has offices in Australia, Canada, Japan, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, the UK and the USA. PADI Worldwide, the corporate head office, is located in California, USA.
PADI's offices serve more than 100,000 individual professional members and more than 4,300 dive centers and resorts in more than 175 countries. To serve the needs of divers worldwide, translations of PADI materials are available in more than 20 languages.
Except for educational materials and training aids PADI provides many services to its members.
First of all, there are a load of magazines and newsletters published by PADI (The Undersea Journal, CEO Report, The Business of Diving, Aqua, Sport Diver, Dive Traveler).
They also conduct annual seminars that cover various educational, marketing and risk management topics. Each year PADI staff attend advisory meetings and member forums to discuss local issues and develop national and international dive community minimum training standards.
Project AWARE (Aquatic World Awareness, Responsibility and Education) encompasses PADI's environmental awareness and protection philosophy. Through their training, divers learn the importance of protecting fragile aquatic ecosystems and are encouraged to become involved in preservation efforts. PADI represents the interests of members and divers in the community and before governments.

PADI Adventure Diver course
is similar to the advanced course with only 3 dives. You choose the dives during this 1 day adventure course. There are no core dives just 3 dives of your choice.
The Adventures in Diving program offers both the Adventure Diver and Advanced Open Water Diver certifications. If you complete any three adventure dives, you can earn your PADI Adventure Diver certification. If you complete your Deep Adventure Dive, Underwater Navigation Adventure Dive and three Adventure Dives for a total of five, you can earn your Advanced Open Water Diver certification.
The course is aimed to give the basic diver more knowledge and experience in the type of dives they find interesting.
Open Water Course
Now is the time to dive into the PADI Open Water Diver course, the most popular dive program in the world! This is your ticket to a lifetime of intense adventure with PADI, a dive company that sets the standards in the global diving community. Throughout the course, you'll learn fundamentals of scuba diving, including dive equipment and techniques. You will also earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification that is recognized worldwide. You earn this rating by completing five pool dives and knowledge development sessions and by making four open water dives.
Virtually anyone who is in good health, reasonably fit, and comfortable in the water can earn a PADI Open Water Diver certification. At some point in the course, you will be asked to demonstrate the ability to swim 200 meters/yards without swim aids or 300 meters/yards with mask, fins and snorkel and complete a bit of paperwork, to get you on your way. If you are between 10 and 14 or have a child between these ages, there is a PADI Junior Open Water Diver program available.
After completing this course you will be certified as an Open Water Diver and have the freedom to dive with a buddy independent of a professional. If you already tried a Discover Scuba Diving experience or are Scuba Diver certified, your credits will apply to this open water program.
Medic First Aid program
covers basic training for cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and emergency care.
In addition, it is a medically-based program covering primary care, secondary care and treatments, following national consensus guidelines
If you are seeking CPR / first aid training to meet a diving program requirement or for personal enhancement then this program is for you.
PADI Rescue Diver
The importance of being able to help yourself and others can not be overstated. This course will teach you how to recognize stress thereby improving your own self rescue skills but also enabling you to assist others that might be experiencing problems. The course usually takes 3-4 days to complete, including the Emergency First Response Program, and is an integral part in your development as a diver - and a good introduction to divemaster training.
The PADI Rescue Diver program develops your knowledge and skills so you can effectively perform diver assists and rescues, manage diving accident situations and render first aid. The program is an important step in expanding your knowledge and experience as a diver. PADI Rescue Diver (or equivalent) certification is also a prerequisite for all PADI leadership programs.
To get into the PADI Rescue Diver program, you'll need to be certified as an Advanced Open Water Diver (or equivalent) and must be at least 15 years old. Or Junior Open Water Diver, 12 years old. You'll also need to have successfully completed the Emergency First Response Program or a sanctioned program in CPR within the past three years. After successfully completing the program, you'll receive the internationally recognized PADI Rescue Diver certification card.
PADI Divemaster course
The PADI Divemaster course is the first step to becoming a Diving Professional. The course is a comprehensive training program designed to shape and develops the skills and attitudes required to become a Divemaster. PADI Divemaster training develops your leadership abilities by training you to supervise dive activities and assist instructors with student divers.
The course involves working with real students and real instructors in actual training situations. This rating denotes you as a person who has a high level of personal diving skill, instructor level knowledge of diving theory and trained in how to assist an instructor during training activities.
To qualify for Divemaster training, you'll need to:
